Hey everybody,
We are starting to work more with Diigo in class with GICAs and in class activities. In the beginning of the semester I had no idea what it was or what even "social bookmarking" meant. Know that we have had sometime to use the program, its a cool concept that I did not know was out there that people and educators can use. I like the idea of crowd sourcing through annotated websites or articles cause allows more groundwork to be cover when researching a topic in a group because more people are finding relevant resources for you to explore. The interface and how the program works can be fixed in my opinion. The program feels a bit clunky at times when I am trying to annotate it and that makes it feel like I cannot annotate it the way I want to. Overall I think social bookmarking is something I want to explored more in my career.
Blogging is something I thought I would not like to do because to be honest, I never saw myself having a blog ever in my life. Though this is a blog for a class that will end in the coming months it does spark an interest in me to continue blogging with my career. Blogging for me, allows me to process the bigger ideas that we are learning in this course and not just the technical side for the resources we are learning about. It is also cool to read other people's thoughts on subjects to see what you guys think because it may be different than how I approached it. I learned that different forms of sharing things can be beneficial to how you think and explain your ideas.
A web 2.0 resource that I am interested in is E-Textbooks. These are textbooks that incorporate more innovated and engaging possibilities to work with the textbook than traditional textbooks. These are not just electronic versions of the same text, but, use technologies to better enhance the experience of students with VR or AR. This can make textbook more engaging overall and allow the textbooks to offer more with their price.
