ILP #1 - Participation - LinkedIn Learning Course

HI everybody! Above is the link to my first ILP in which I took an online course through LinkedIn  Learning. I went through a data visualization course which was very interesting because it is something I want to use more in the future when I present my research data to the public. I wne over my experience with LinkedIn learning online and the course in general.  The next stage is learning how to use a specific data visualization software called Tableau in an educational and research setting in my ILP #2, so look out for that in the coming weeks! Blog Journal #2: Implementing technology in the classroom and its ethical minefield

     With our goal to create a more technology inclusive classroom for the 21st century, there are many questions and discussions we need to have in utilizing ethical implementation of tech. We can create a lot in education using technology, the biggest example would be the creation of Microsoft Office and its now ubiquitous usage in creating documents and information. For most of my educational life,starting around middle school, MS word has been what I have used for many assignments and papers if I was not told it was suppose to be paper. The interface was something I got accustomed to as just a part of my life as a student and will probably be for the rest of my school and career life. My teachers used MS word to create my assignments and documents to give to my parents to sign or show. Blog Journal #1: The 21st century classroom, ITSE, and being a "Digital Native"

 The 21st century classroom needs technology in order to better suit the 21st century student. Education and the classroom should not be a place that is behind the times but a place that mimics the same technological environment that the students are accustomed to at their homes. This will also allow students to see the capability of technology in the educational context. The ability to search for knowledge and data has been expedited and revolutionized because of tech therefore we have to evolve our curriculum to talk about and use this in the formal setting of the classroom. The International Society of Technology in Education is a a steward in allowing this evolution to happen in the classroom. There standards for both students and educators allows a guideline of how one can integrate and use tech in education.
